Final Weeks of School
Honors students are currently working on our final unit which is a study in small group communication, marketing and media, and the novel Into Thin Air  by Jon Krakauer.  During this unit, students will read the novel to acquire information about climbing Mt. Everest.  Students work in small groups to create their own climbing companies and create a name, slogan, logo, and marketing campaign for their company.  The focus is also on working effectivley in a small group and understanding group dynamics.  For this portion of the unit, students are faced with team building and group challenges that target the essentail skills needed to work together effectively (synergy, cohesion, creativity, communication, participation, goal setting, etc.)  They are to transfer these skills over to their marketing project as well.
